Frequently Asked Questions

  • I accept Premera and certain BlueCross Blue Shield and LifeWise plans that bill through Premera. If you’re unsure, please inquire with me so I can run a benefit check for you.

  • I only see clients virtually at the moment via a HIPAA-compliant video platform.

  • Every child and family is different, so we create a plan that fits your needs. We begin with a brief 20-minute phone consultation to learn about your concerns and discuss next steps.

    Online services may include:

    • Individual sessions with your child

    • Parent support

    • Coaching for parents to facilitate child-led play at home

    During sessions, your child can explore feelings and build coping skills through creative and expressive activities. Parents help by setting up a private space and having some simple play materials available (your therapist may suggest specific items).

  • Tell your child that they are going to meet me (David) on the computer for special play-time together. You might also add, “when things are hard for you at home or school, sometimes it helps to have someone to talk to or play with that helps you feel understand your feelings.”

  • Sessions are generally 50-min long but we can discuss scheduling a longer time if our schedules allow. Our 1st session is an assessment where I gather background information from you and your partner. For the 2nd and 3rd sessions, I will meet with partners individually to understand your relationship histories. Starting the 4th session, I bring you both back together again to begin working on your relationship together. There may be times we might request to meet individually with one or both of you again if issues come up that impact your ability to feel safe and vulnerable in the relationship.
